The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicked off a three-race weekend and stretch of seven races in 10 days on Thursday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.

Using an impressive comeback charge from third to first over the final four laps, Garrett Alberson took his No. 58 Roberts Motorsports team to series victory lane for the first time in 2025 over an exciting battle between runner-up Hudson O'Neal and third-place Brandon Overton.

Alberson led 35 laps from the pole before Overton took the lead on the 36th circuit, which he held until lap 47 until Alberson powered back around Overton and O'Neal via the high side. Jonathan Davenport and Carson Ferguson rounded out the top-five.

Third-running Ricky Thornton Jr. finished 20th after a tumultuous night, first when he slowed in turn four on lap 16 after clipping the backstretch wall. He eventually returned but spun for another caution on lap 19 and also hit the wall on the lap 40.
