What Is The Virginia Triple Crown?
The Virginia Triple Crown is a three-race series made up of the biggest Late Model Stock Car events in the Commonwealth. The Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 (South Boston 200) at South Boston Speedway kicks off the series. The middle leg is the Hampton Heat 200 at Hampton, Virginia’s Langley Speedway. The finale is the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway.
This year, the winner of the Triple Crown will receive a check for $20,000, the biggest payday in the history of the three-race series. Overall, the purse will be an even $50,000 spread through the top 10 finishers in the Triple Crown standings. This purse increase is due to a collaborative effort between FloRacing and NASCAR.
The Triple Crown standings are decided by best average finish across all three races. Peyton Sellers is the defending Virginia Triple Crown champion.
