The Wild Child is strapping back into a Sprint Car. In a surprise development Thursday at Ohio's Waynesfield Raceway Park, Jac Haudenschild is coming out of retirement for at least a night on the NAPA All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Valvoline-sanctioned Ohio Speedweek.

Both Waynesfield Raceway Park and the All Star Circuit of Champions social media accounts surprised the Sprint Car world when they posted a screenshot of the 67-year-old driver showing up on the draw sheet for the $7,506-to-win Jamie Miller Memorial Race.

Bernie Stuebgen confirmed the news to FloRacing that the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver of Wooster, Ohio, who has been retired since November 2021's World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte is indeed aboard an Indy Race Parts entry for Thursday's Ohio Speedweek event. Haudenschild will be driving a No. 6 throwback to his days driving for Jamie Miller in the early 2000s.

Haudenschild is a six-time winner of Ohio Speedweek, ranking him tied for 11th all-time in the 43-year miniseries history.

Fans unable to attend Thursday's Ohio Speedweek event at Waynesfield Raceway Park can watch all the action live on FloRacing with racing at the Ohio oval starting at 7 p.m. EDT.
