Dale Earnhardt Jr. To Serve As Crew Chief For Connor Zilisch
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. will cross a new role off of his list during Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Pocono Raceway.

Throughout the years, we’ve seen Dale Earnhardt Jr. fill a variety of roles. First there was “Race Car Driver Dale,” then “Team Owner Dale.” Heck, we even got to see “Watercooler Dale” at one point. But now, we’re finally going to see “Crew Chief Dale.”
That’s right. NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be serving as the listed crew chief for Connor Zilisch in this week’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
Zilisch’s normal crew chief, Mardy Lindley, will be serving a one-race suspension for loose lugnuts following the event at Nashville Superspeedway two weeks ago.
This weekend, @DaleJr will be filling in for Mardy Lindley as crew chief of the No. 88 as Lindley serves his one race suspension for loose lugnuts following the NXS race in Nashville two weeks ago.

JR Motorsports made the announcement Wednesday afternoon that Lindley would serve the suspension for this week’s race at Pocono, and that Earnhardt Jr. would be filling that vacancy atop the No. 88 pit box.
Due to his broadcast responsibilities with Prime Sports, Earnhardt Jr. was already scheduled to be at Pocono Raceway this weekend.
Connor Zilisch currently sits fifth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series points standings and is locked into the playoffs with one victory at Circuit of the Americas. Zilisch missed one race this season, at Texas, due to a back injury suffered in a last-lap crash at Talladega Superspeedway in April.
Whether it’s driving, owning a race team, owning a race series, or serving as a broadcast, Earnhardt Jr. has done just about everything there is to do in motorsports at this point, but serving as crew chief might be the final thing to cross off the list.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Pocono Raceway is Saturday, June 21, at 3:30 p.m. ET on The CW.
