Sometimes, the story-book ending, the Hollywood movie script, the stuff fairy-tales are made of, well, they actually happen. Saturday at Dominion Raceway, it actually happened for Mini Tyrrell and the CARS Tour during the "Mini's Mission 125."

For those that don't know, "Mini's Mission" is the name of the foundation that CARS Tour driver Mini Tyrrell started when he was just a kid. For the last three years,  Tyrrell and his family have been using this race weekend at Dominion Raceway to host a number of families whose children have been affected by pediatric cancer. Each family is matched up with a CARS Tour driver, hosted at a dinner on Friday night, and treated as true VIPs on race day.

For the last two years, Tyrrell has come oh-so-close to winning this race, but just short each time.

But not on Saturday night. Not this time. 

Tyrrell went out and won the pole in qualifying, and then backed that up by leading a majority of the 125-lap race and parking his No. 81 machine in victory lane on the frontstretch before a roaring crowd.

Tyrrell held off challenges from Chad McCumbee and Connor Hall in the closing stages, including a restart with seven laps to go, to score his second victory of the season.

Hall finished second, McCumbee third, Tristan McKee finished fourth, and Lanie Buice completed the top five.
