Carson Hocevar has been the talk of stock car racing the last couple of weeks, for both good and bad reasons. He was lightning fast in the Coca-Cola 600 before an engine failure ended his Cinderella run. He finished second in last Sunday’s race at Nashville Superspeedway, but also crashed Ricky Stenhouse Jr., ending his night early and significantly hurting his playoff hopes. 

And now on Tuesday night, Hocevar went back home to Berlin Raceway and picked up another checkered flag at his home race track, setting a new record in the process.

The Portage, Michigan driver is now the all-time wins leader in the annual 150-lap Money in the Bank race at Berlin with three victories to his credit. He’s also now won each of the last two big Super Late Model races at the Marne, Michigan half-mile. Hocevar went to victory lane last August in the 250-lap Battle at Berlin.

Hocevar beat local driver Andrew Scheid to the checkered flag by 2.392-seconds and led the most laps on the way to the win. Brian Campbell rounded out the podium with Erik Jones finishing fourth and Tyler Rycenga completing the top five.

Bubba Pollard’s night ended early with mechanical issues. The Senoia, Georgia driver was scored 21st after completing just 88 of the 150 laps.
