An event that was already immense in scale and significance has now grown even larger. Port Royal Speedway announced Friday night a massive boost to the purse for this weekend's Bob Weikert Memorial for High Limit Racing Sprint Cars.

Sunday's main event, which was scheduled to pay $75,000 to the winner for a second straight year, will now pay $100,000 to the driver that ends up in victory lane. Additionally, Saturday night's Bob Weikert Memorial Fallen Hero Championship will now pay $20,000-to-win.

According to a social media post from Port Royal Speedway, the massive purse increase was made possible as a result of "a generous donation."

With the increase to a six-figure payday, the Bob Weikert Memorial becomes just the ninth event on this year's 410 Sprint Car schedule paying $100,000 or more to win. It's also now the fourth race on the High Limit Racing schedule with a six-figure payday and the richest race in Port Royal Speedway history.

The Bob Weikert Memorial was scheduled to begin Friday night; however, rain showers throughout the afternoon and evening forced event officials to cancel the opening night of racing. Racing is now slated to resume Saturday with a much more favorable weather forecast and a field of nearly 40 Sprint Cars in the pit area.

All of this weekend's racing action from "The Speed Palace" will be streamed live on FloRacing for those unable to attend the mega event in person. If you're not already a FloRacing subscriber, click here to sign up today.
