Super Late Model Season Opener At Slinger Speedway: Here's What To Know
Super Late Models kick off the 2025 season at Slinger Speedway on Sunday, May 18. Here's what to know entering the new season.
A new season is set to begin for Super Late Model competitors at Slinger Speedway this Sunday, May 18 with the Race Against Cancer. To kick off the 2025 season, a strong field of 20+ Super Late Models are expected to be in action at "The World's Fastest Quarter-Mile Oval."
Earlier this week, Slinger Speedway officials posted an expected driver roster for the event that features the names of 23 Super Late Model drivers.
The list of drivers is headlined by defending Super Late Model champion Alex Prunty and defending Slinger Nationals winner Brad Mueller, who is also a three-time Super Late Model champion at the track.
Six-time Super Late Model champion Steve Apel returns to the track again this season as he chases his seventh track title, a feat that would tie him with seven-time champion Lowell Bennett.
Other former champions expected to be in action on Sunday include: Dennis Prunty (2012), RJ Braun (2022) and six-time champion Conrad Morgan.
The full list of drivers expected to compete in the season-opening Race Against Cancer can be viewed below.
Racing is slated to begin at 2 p.m. CT / 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. In addition to the 75-lap Super Late Model main event, Sportsman, Super Beez, Legends and Bandoleros will also be in action.
