The NASCAR All-Star Weekend will showcase a variety of models and drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series in a competition unlike any other. Leading up to the ultimate event, the NASCAR All-Star Race, spectators can enjoy zMAX CARS Tour racing, the Window World 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck series race, the NASCAR Pit Crew Challenge and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
Some tweaks have been made to his year's All-Star Race, the most popular one being the fact that the race is 250 laps instead of 200. The headliner will also feature a Promoter's Caution, meaning that NASCAR can throw a random yellow flag at any time prior to lap 220, and a Manufacturer Showdown, taking the manufacturer with the fewest amount of drivers and plucking an equal amount from the competition.
Here's everything to know about the NASCAR All-Star Race Weekend.
What Is The NASCAR All-Star Race?
The NASCAR All-Star Race is an annual, non-championship exhibition race that invites drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series to compete against each other. Drivers that attend the event must have either won points races, be past All-Star winners or former Cup Series champions. Additionally, the top two finishers in the All-Star Open, a separate race for those that are not eligible for the main race, get to compete in the All-Star Race.
The race itself is 250 laps, with the starting order determined by two heat races. The winner of the All-Star Race will receive a $1 million prize.
