Thursday’s tentative roster includes a week-long high of 85 entries and many of them are true Golden Driller contenders. If the numbers hold true, we’re likely to see 10 Heat Races for the first time all week and two D-Main, plus the normal four Qualifiers, two C-Mains, two B-Mains, and 30-lap preliminary A-Main with two lock-ins on the line.

The main storyline tonight is the return of Oklahoma’s own Christopher Bell, back at the Chili Bowl Nationals after a two-year hiatus. Fresh off his teammate Emerson Axsom winning on Wednesday, C-Bell will try to top Thursday for the eighth consecutive time in his Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 71W. He’s already won the Race of Champions and now could really establish himself as the favorite for Saturday.
C-Bell isn’t the only former Chili Bowl Nationals champion in competition tonight, however, as Tanner Thorson also runs in his own Tanner Thorson racing No. 88 machine. The Minden, NV native is trying to back up his 2022 Golden Driller by adding one on his own as a car owner/driver this week. He’s in the hunt for a third-straight lock-in on Thursday night.

All that talk about the former Chili Bowl champs tonight, but neither won Thursday last year - that was Spencer Bayston. The Lebanon, IN native has turned into a strong contender in Tulsa since pairing with RMS Racing and that has resulted in a 2023 Race of Champions win and 2024 preliminary win. He’ll try to replicate that success for a third-straight year in his No. 1S machine.
Matt Wood Racing will send Ryan Bernal into battle tonight aboard his NOS Energy Drink #87W. The Hollister, CA native is a former top-five finisher in the Chili Bowl Championship A-Main and has been in contention for preliminary wins before. His Matt Wood Racing unit is still the only team in the building with two locked-in drivers to Saturday’s big dance.
Alex Bowman Racing will put their fourth and final car on the track with C.J. Leary following in the footsteps of Briggs Danner, Kevin Thomas Jr, and Jake Swanson. Back to Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports, they’ll pair C-Bell with two more runners tonight as Jacob Denney and Mariah Ede also go out.
After Daison Pursley locked-in with his CB Industries #86 last night, Chris Windom now gets his turn at Chad Boat’s camp. The driver of the NOS Energy Drink No. 89 is going for his 11th career start in the Chili Bowl Championship A-Main this week.
Broken Arrow, OK’s Brady Bacon makes his 21st consecutive attempt at the Chili Bowl Nationals this week as he continues to run with Missouri-based TKH Motorsports, owned by Kelly & Lora Hinck. “The Macho Man” will follow Tuesday’s Kameron Key, who battled up front of for the lock-in and earned a trip to Saturday’s B-Main.
Another notable name to watch is Karter Sarff out of Mason City, IL, now driving for Chase Briscoe Racing. He put his family-owned car in the Chili Bowl Championship A-Main for the first time ever last year, and hopes to do even more with this great opportunity.
The list of Thursday’s toughest only continues from there with the addition of Kyle Spence, Andrew Deal, Ethan Mitchell, Shane Cottle, Cole Bodine, Casey Shuman, Landon Crawley, and many more.
