It’s night two at the 39th Chili Bowl Nationals and Tuesday has a lot to live up to following Monday’s thrilling opening preliminary.

As it stands, 76 entries are tentatively scheduled to compete in Tuesday’s program with 8-9 Heat Races, the potential for a D-Main, two C-Mains, four Qualifiers, two B-Mains, and a 30-lap A-Main on the docket. Once again, only two lock-in positions are available into Saturday’s Championship A-Main.

We have four former Tuesday night winners in competition tonight, including defending and two-time Tuesday titan, Buddy Kofoid. Now a World of Outlaws full-timer, the Penngrove, CA native is still making time to come back to Tulsa each January and chase that coveted Golden Driller, which he fell one spot short of last year. He’ll try to deliver Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports their first prelim win of the week after failing to lock-in through Monday’s prelim with three in the top-10.

Local racer Hank Davis from Sand Springs, OK, who won Tuesday’s prelim in 2023 and ran second to Kofoid last year, is back with Matt Seymour Racing as his threat level continues to rise at the Chili Bowl. Along with Kofoid and Davis, former Tuesday winner Jonathan Beason (with Hard 8 Racing) and Zach Daum (with Trifecta Motorsports) are also in the field.

After the heartbreak of Briggs Danner flipping while sliding for the lead on Monday, the Alex Bowman Racing squad will regroup and recoup by sending Kevin Thomas Jr. out for his prelim - the first of three Ally Racing rides owned by the Hendrick Motorsports star.

Another team trying to recover from the frustrations of night one is Matt Wood Racing, although their troubles of Shane Golobic losing the win but still locking-in are a bit easier to swallow. Tonight, MWR sends out young gun Landon Brooks in the #57W as they look to put together another five-for-five week when it comes to prelim top-10s like they did last year.

While Kofoid represents the World of Outlaws, Kubota High Limit Racing is well covered on Tuesday with the reigning champion Brad Sweet competing for RMS Racing and Series Director, Mike Hess, also in action. The fendered side of our sport is being taken care of too on Tuesday with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Ricky Thornton Jr. and Super DIRTcar Series champion Mat Williamson both racing. Speaking of Williamson, he’s one of 18 rookies in the field tonight with the most notable being NASCAR Cup Series regular Ty Gibbs driving Chad Boat’s CB Industries, Monster Energy #81.

There’s also a Boyles family reunion going on Tuesday with FloRacing broadcaster Clinton Boyles strapping in for his preliminary night as he goes against his cousin Kameron Key (A-Main starter last year)  in the TKH #21J and brother-in-law Hunter Schuerenberg in the JFM #73.

Many more names to consider this evening include Thomas Meseraull, Kaylee Bryson, Tom Harris, Corbin Rueschenberg, Brenham Crouch, Garet Williamson, Jake Bubak, and others.

All of the Chili Bowl fun continues today with Tuesday Heat Races beginning at 4pm CT. If you can’t be here to witness the Tulsa magic yourself, you can watch every lap live all week long on FloRacing.
