Fresh off a busy week competing in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600, 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson was back behind the wheel of a race car on Tuesday. Larson participated in a Goodyear tire test at Iowa Speedway in advance of the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series event at the track on June 16.

Due to his obligations with the tire test, Larson was unable to compete in Tuesday night's Kubota High Limit Racing Midweek Money Series race at Grandview Speedway. Larson, the defending High Limit Racing Midweek Money Series champion, initially announced that he'd be missing the race during an episode of the High Limit Room podcast on April 27.

"Grandview is a great track for me and I really love running there," Larson said. "I love racing as much as I can, but when your crew chief tells you, 'Hey, I signed you up for a tire test at a track we've never been to before in the Cup Series,' I need to be there."

Although Larson is not competing at Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, a stout field of 42 High Limit Racing Sprint Car drivers are set to battle for a $20,000 top prize.

Larson is expected to rejoin the High Limit Racing Sprint Cars at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Friday, May 31.
