Josef Newgarden used an epic last-corner maneuver to defeat late-race challenging Pato O'Ward to win Sunday's 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 for his second straight title at the Brickyard's famed Crown Jewel.

Fifth-starting Kyle Larson finished 18th during his Indy 500 debut, experiencing a whirlwind kind of a day that saw him lead laps 177 through 180 — four laps he led when he tried making his second-to-last fuel run last to the finish — and a lap-120 speeding penalty on pit road that plummeted him out of fifth-place at the time he pitted.
