Dale Earnhardt Jr. Announces New Broadcasting Home For 2025 NASCAR Season

NASCAR Hall of Famer and CARS Tour co-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced Tuesday where he will be taking his broadcasting talents to for 2025 and beyond. Earnhardt Jr. will be joining the TNT Sports broadcast booth as well as the Amazon Prime broadcast booth for 2025.

It was announced earlier this season that Earnhardt Jr. would not be back with NBC’s NASCAR announcing team after terms could not be agreed upon during contract negotiations for 2024 and beyond.

With that news came rumors of Earnhardt Jr. heading to TNT and Amazon Prime as TNT came back to NASCAR after a few years away and Amazon Prime makes its initial foray into NASCAR broadcasting.

Now, those rumors have become reality as both entities made it official on Tuesday morning that Earnhardt Jr. would be anchoring each’s coverage teams. So far, Earnhardt Jr. is the only person to be officially confirmed for either broadcast booth.

“I’m honored to be a part of Prime Video’s entrance into NASCAR,” Earnhardt Jr. said in a press release. “It is an exciting opportunity to have the chance to give our NASCAR fan base yet another way to watch the sport. It will be exciting to see the innovation that Prime Video is going to bring to our sport and the fans.”

In a coinciding press release from TNT Sports, Earnhardt Jr. said: “It is such an exciting time to welcome TNT Sports back to NASCAR. I remember watching the races on TNT back in the day, and it’s so nostalgic to see them return to the sport and to be a part of their team. I’m looking forward to joining their team and also getting the chance to work with Bleacher Report creating content that our fans will enjoy.”

It was also announced Tuesday that Earnhardt Jr. will contribute to a “new Bleacher report content series distributed across Bleacher Report’s social and digital platforms.” This new series will be co-produced by Earnhardt’s “Dirty Mo Media.”

TNT Sports and Amazon Prime will each broadcast five consecutive races in the summer months as part of NASCAR's new media rights contract that is set to begin in 2025. Amazon Prime's five races will be streamed exclusively on the platform. They mark the first time that NASCAR events will be available exclusively via streaming. TNT Sports' five races will also be streamed as part of the B/R Add-On for HBO Max subscribers.

Earnhardt Jr. first stepped into the broadcasting world as part of NBC Sports’ NASCAR coverage team in 2018. He’s been part of NBC Sports’ coverage of the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the Kentucky Derby, and the Indianapolis 500 in addition to his role as an analyst in the NASCAR booth for NBC Sports.

Earnhardt Jr. also became a co-owner of the CARS Tour at the end of 2022 along with Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Justin Marks. FloRacing has been the live-streaming home of the CARS Tour since the start of the 2023 season. Race fans can watch the CARS Tour on FloRacing by subscribing here.

The CARS Tour will be back in action on Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15 at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway.
