James McFadden's arrival to the United States from his native Australia has been delayed due to travel issues. As a result, Dominic Scelzi will take over behind the wheel of the Roth Motorsports Sprint Car for the High Limit Racing season opener at East Bay Raceway Park on February 12-13.

McFadden spent the winter competing in his homeland and had plans of returning to the U.S. to chase a High Limit Racing championship in 2024.

During McFadden's brief absence,  the team will compete for the owners points with super sub Dominic Scelzi from Fresno, California.

“Roth Motorsports is like a second home to me, so when I got the call I didn’t hesitate to accept to help them out,” Scelzi said. “I wish it wasn’t under these circumstances with James McFadden dealing with issues getting back over here, but I am hopeful I can help the team get off to a strong start with the High Limit Series.”

Scelzi and Roth Motorsports have had a great relationship over the years with Roth Motorsports sponsoring Scelzi’s personal racing efforts before he moved into the famed No. 83 during the 2019 season. Scelzi also filled in for the team at the close of the 2020 season.
