
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series had its fifth night of the Winter Nationals on Friday at East Bay Raceway Park, the third-mile oval in its final season of operations.
Jonathan Davenport dispatched first-half leader Tyler Erb to lead the final 23 laps and claim his first win of the 2024 season. Davenport collected $12,000 for the winning effort in which he topped Hudson O'Neal by a full second.
Daulton Wilson rounded out the podium in third. Ricky Thornton Jr. started 25th and finished sixth.
It's the 72nd full-field Lucas Oil Series win of Davenport's career and his eighth Winternationals triumph at East Bay. The third-starting Erb led laps 13-27 before Davenport took control Erb appeared to break his right-front suspension and upon pulling off on lap 30 and was credited with 24th.
