Event Preview: USAF Snocross National 2024 In Deadwood, SD

About the event:

The 2024 National Tour heads to it's westernmost top of the tour in the heart of historic downtown Deadwood, SD for the US Air Force Snocross National presented by Christian Cars Online. Deadwood has a reputation for providing thrilling, bar-to-bar racing and drama that are sure to bring it's capacity crowd to it's feet. The tight quarters of the rodeo grounds will likely result in an oval-shaped course. But make no mistake - Deadwood will be once of the most talked about events of the season.

The two-day snowmobile racing spectacular will be held throughout the day Friday and Saturday. The venue offers a variety activities for the entire family in addition to the action on-track, including a Pro autograph session, coloring zone, youth snowmobile rides, and more.

For those fortunate enough to attend the event, we hope you enjoy the races and create lifelong memories. Tickets and event info can be found here. For those who are not able to make it, please see this week's watch guide for viewing information. You can watch live all season long right here on FloRacing.

AMSOIL PRO

Championship Point Standings:

  • 1st: Elias Ishoel #200 (89 points)
  • 2nd: Emil Harr #31 (76 points)
  • 3rd: Francis Pelletier #220 (73 points)
  • 4th: Kody Kamm #53 (and 57 points)
  • 5th: Adam Peterson #3 (55 points)

Elias Ishoel (Skogquist Race Team Ski-Doo) enters Deadwood with a 13 point lead over Emil Harr (Judnick Motorsports Polaris). Both riders took home an overall win in Shakopee, MN earlier this month. Ishoel was on his way to sweeping the night on Saturday when a broken spindle derailed his hopes of an overall win. Nonetheless, he came away with a 3rd (1-1-12).

Kody Kamm: In

Good news! My foot is NOT broken. But it is not pretty! I’ll see you guys in Deadwood 🏁

Hunter Patenaude: In

I spent this last week doing everything I could to try get my elbow healed up as soon as possible and after getting another round of X-rays, I am cleared to race this weekend @historicdeadwood. I cant thank my chiropractor,
Dr. Jana Riley enough for doing everything in her power to get me back on track! There’s no other explanation for this quick of a recovery other than trusting God and allowing Him to do His work in my life. Let’s go racing!

On the cusp of winning that same night was Thene Motorsports Ski-Doo's Francis Pelletier who finished one position behind Harr in the O/A results which marked his second consecutive podium. "Frank" also set the fastest lap of the race in race 3. Impressive!

Warnert Racing's Jordan Lebel was able to turn things around after a troubling opening weekend in Ironwood, MI. Lebel earned himself a triple crown race win. While he is finding that consistency is hard to come by in the AMSOIL Pro class, it should not be understated how difficult it is to win in the premier class. To earn a triple crown race win with only a few Pro class races under his belt is noteworthy.

Top Performers from the last round:

  • Arctic Cat Top Performer: Daniel Benham 7th O/A (3-13-6)
  • Ski-Doo Top Performer: Elias Ishoel 2nd O/A (1-1-12)
  • Polaris Top Performer: Emil Harr 1st O/A (5-2-3)

2023 Deadwood Winners: Kamm, Harr

PRO LITE

Championship Point Standings:

  • 1st: Crayden Dillon #96 (131 points)
  • 2nd: Nick Lorenz #2 (107 points)
  • 3rd: Topi Posti #43 (96 points)
  • 4th: Anson Scheele #44 (95 points)
  • 5th: Adam Ashline #710 (89 points)

Crayden Dillon (Thene Motorsports Ski-Doo) double dipped in Shakopee with back-to-back wins. As a result, he now sits 24 points ahead in the standings.

Nick Lorenz (West Coast Customs Racing Ski-Doo) navigated lap traffic with precision to take 2nd. On the final lap, he storms past Anson Scheele and Topi Posti for the runner-up position. This performance was significant for Lorenz changing both team and manufacturer over the off-season.

Podium finishers in Shakopee also included Trent Witter (Woodies Racing Arctic Cat), Topi Posti (Warnert Racing Ski-Doo), and Evan Christian (KC Motorsports Polaris).

2023 Deadwood Winner: Lebel (2)

Great starts were a key component to her success in the last two rounds. Matching Cottew's starts was Hemmer Motorsports Polaris's Inanna Hauger. Also making a podium appearance was the local gal, Tausha Lange (West Coast Customs Racing Ski-Doo).
