A revised format will be used to determine the first 10 starting positions in Saturday's 38th Annual Chili Bowl Nationals. The traditional pole shuffle featuring winners and runner-up finishers from preliminary nights has been tweaked compared to the format used in recent years.

This year, instead of drivers racing each other for position on the race track, they will be attempting to run a faster lap than their opponent in each head-to-head matchup.

On Friday night, the pole shuffle draw was held to determine the lineup for Saturday's pole shuffle. The results from the pole shuffle draw can be viewed below:

1. Logan Seavey

2. Tanner Carrick

3. Corey Day

4. Buddy Kofoid

5. Spencer Bayston

6. Tanner Thorson

7. Ryan Timms

8. Shane Golobic

9. Hank Davis

10. Jake Swanson

This year's pole shuffle will begin with a matchup of #10 Jake Swanson vs. #9 Hank Davis. Each driver will have three laps to record a fast time. The driver with the fastest time in the first matchup will advance to face #8 Shane Golobic. The loser of that first matchup with start Saturday's A-Main from the 10th position.

From there, the head-to-head matchups will continue with the winner advancing to face the next highest seed. This will continue until one of the first nine drivers emerges and squares off in a battle for the pole position with #1 Logan Seavey. As a result of pulling the number-one pill, Seavey can start no worse than second in the 55-lap feature.

The remainder of the 24-car starting lineup for Saturday's A-Main will be determined during a pair of B-Mains, with each B-Main sending the top seven finishers to the main event.
