The wait is finally over - the 38th annual Chili Bowl Nationals is finally here.

Monday’s opening night at Tulsa’s SageNet Center marks the first of five crucial preliminary programs with tonight’s finishing order setting the stage for Saturday’s alphabet soup. The first 70-ish of an expected 370-car field will hit the track tonight - for Heat Races, Qualifiers, D-Mains, C-Mains, B-Mains, A-Main - along with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Invitational Race of Champions.

Headlining Monday’s opening night roster is Cannon McIntosh, a three-time preliminary winner hailing from right down the road in Bixby, OK. After two years with his family team, Dave Mac Motorsports, Cannon is returning to Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports this week in the No. 71P. He’ll be joined by two KKM teammates in Taylor Reimer and Tanner Carrick, who is another former winner on Monday night.

A trio of NOS Energy Drink athletes will be racing in the first prelim of the Chili Bowl powered by NOS Energy Drink. Shane Golobic, for Matt Wood Racing, and Chris Windom, for CB Industries, are both 10-time Championship A-Main starters and consistent frontrunners in these prelims. There’s also Nick Hoffman, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Rookie of the Year, racing for RAMS Racing and Jeff Taylor.

Kyle Jones and Trey Marcham, who both placed top-10 in Saturday’s Chili Bowl Championship A-Main last year, are included in tonight’s field. Tulsa Shootout champions Kris Carroll, TJ Smith, Joe B. Miller, and Gary Taylor are also in action on Monday.

NASCAR Cup Series star Chase Briscoe will get to double dip, racing in his sixth Monday preliminary as well as participating in the Race of Champions. International star Michael Pickens will represent New Zealand tonight as he joins a lethal Abacus Racing lineup.

If you can’t be here to witness the Tulsa magic yourself, you can watch every lap live all week long on FloRacing.
