A Look At The 2024 Short Track Super Series Schedule

The Short Track Super Series will visit 17 different race tracks in six states during the 2024 season.

MILLSBORO, DE – Six states and two Canadian provinces encompass the 2024 Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco schedule.

Highlights of the 11th Short Track Super Series season:

  • Modified series events at 17 different facilities
  • Visits to six states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Vermont and Florida) and two Canadian provinces (Ontario and Quebec)
  • North Region, NJ Quality Drywall South Region and a new combined (North/South) point fund for STSS Modified teams
  • Three new venues: Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Mohawk International Speedway in Akwesasne, N.Y.; and Cornwall Motor Speedway in Cornwall, Ont.
  • Eleven events paying $10,000 or more
  • A new home, date and non-top-heavy pay structure for the Short Track SuperNationals in its 15th edition
  • Crate 602 Sportsman North and South Regions
  • All events broadcast live via FloRacing for the fourth consecutive year

2024 Short Track Super Series North Region Schedule

Twelve points-paying races comprise the STSS North Region schedule, kicking off at Gary Palmer’s Accord (N.Y.) Speedway on Tuesday, May 14 with the ‘Battle of the Bullring’ a staple on the BD Motorsports Media LLC schedule since 2013.

Now under the leadership of Mike Bruno, Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., debuts on the series schedule Thursday, May 30 with the ‘Adirondack Invasion’ paying $7,000 to win.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., returns to the schedule with $10,000 going to the winner on Father’s Day: Sunday, June 16.

N.Y.’s Fonda Speedway hosts the STSS twice: Wednesday, July 3 for the $10,000-to-win ‘Firecracker 50’ and again Sept. 12-14 for the $53,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start Fonda 200 crown jewel.

The series travels to Tyler Siri’s Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., on Thursday, July 11 with the ‘Dave Machuga Memorial Outlaw Showdown’ paying an increased $7,078.78 to win.

Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., hosts two points-paying STSS events: the ‘Richie Evans Remembered 61’ on Thursday, July 18 and New Yorker 50 on Sunday, Sept. 1.

The Short Track SuperNationals – a non-points-paying event – moves to Utica-Rome with a new date of Sept. 27-28 for the 15th annual “Working Man’s Race.” The event features a non-top-heavy purse structure of $4,000 to win, $2,000 for 10th and $1,000 for 16th-place.

The ‘Lumberjack Swing’ returns with back-to-back nights in Quebec: Tuesday, July 30 at Autodrome Granby and Wednesday, July 31 at Le RPM Speedway.

A pair of new venues are set for back-to-back races Aug. 6-7. Mohawk International Speedway in Akwesasne, N.Y., offers the ‘Summer Showdown on the Border’ with a $10,000 top prize Tuesday (Aug. 6), with the first visit to Ontario Wednesday at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the $10,055-to-win ‘Rumble on the Seaway’ Wednesday (Aug. 7).

2024 Short Track Super Series South Region Schedule

Del.’s Georgetown Speedway launches the ’24 South Region slate with the Jake Marine Memorial on March 9 paying $8,500 to win, the first of three visits to the revitalized Sussex County oval.

Georgetown also hosts the ‘Blast at the Beach’ on Tuesday, Aug. 27 and the two-day Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend Nov. 1-2.

The ‘Speed Palace’ of Pa.’s Port Royal Speedway is set for a massive March 15-16 weekend with $50,000 on the line for the rescheduled ‘Speed Showcase’ from last October. A second visit to the Speed Palace is set for Thursday-Saturday Oct. 17-19.

The traditional ‘Diamond State 50’ at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Del., returns on Tuesday, May 7.

After a rousing debut on the one-fifth-mile bullring last year, Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., is set for the ‘Berks County Brawl’ on Tuesday, May 21 paying $5,000 to the winner. All participants will receive 75 show-up points.

The ‘Dirty Jersey’ at N.J.’s New Egypt Speedway moves to Tuesday, June 18 with $6,000 going to the winner. Bridgeport (N.J.) Motorsports Park returns to the ’24 schedule with the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ on Sunday, July 7.

Combined Point Fund

STSS Modified racers will compete for North Region, South Region and a new-for-’24 combined point fund rewarding competitors for logging miles to chase both regions. Further information on the combined point fund will be released later in December.

Sunshine Swing

The ’24 season gets underway for the fifth consecutive year in Florida with the ‘Sunshine Swing’ at All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Fla., Feb. 6-10.

Following a Tuesday (Feb. 6) Open Practice, four nights of racing are set for the STSS Modifieds ($5,000, $6,000, $8,000 and $10,000 to win) and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,500 – twice, $2,000 and $2,500 to win).

Again in ’24, the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will take part in North and South Regions.

The Belmont’s Garage South Region visits Georgetown (March 9, Aug. 27 and Nov. 1-2), Port Royal (March 15-16 and Oct. 17-19), Delaware International (May 7), New Egypt (June 18) and Bridgeport (July 7).

North Region stops are set for Accord (May 14), N.Y.’s Brookfield Speedway (May 26), Fonda (July 3 and Sept. 12-14) and Utica-Rome (July 18 and Sept. 27-28).
