High Limit Racing made headlines on Tuesday when series co-owners Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet announced the series will be going national in 2024. 

What exactly does this mean and what does the future of Sprint Car racing look like following this announcement? We'll try to answer all of the questions you may have based on what we know so far. 

Kyle Larson And Brad Sweet Announce Major Plans For High Limit Racing

Did the name of the series change? 

Yes. The series name has changed from the High Limit Sprint Car Series to High Limit Racing. 

Will the series run only midweek races? 

No. The series will also compete on weekends starting in 2024. 

Midweek races will continue to be prevalent for High Limit Racing with a "Midweek Money Series." The Midweek Money Series will race only on weekdays and will have a separate $100,000 point fund. 

Will the series run more than 12 events in 2024?

Yes. High Limit Racing plans to have more than 50 events in 2024. 

The series also will set dedicated “off-weekends” to allow teams to continue to participate in Sprint Car racing’s crown jewel events.

A full schedule for the 2024 season is expected to be released in the coming weeks. 

What race tracks will High Limit Racing visit in 2024? 

The High Limit Racing national tour will kick off 2024 at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla. in February and celebrate its inaugural season championship at The Dirt Track at Texas Motor in October.

Former All Star Circuit of Champions events including, but not limited to, the Bob Weikert Memorial and Tuscarora 50 events at Port Royal (Penn.) Speedway, the Dean Knittel Memorial at Portsmouth (Ohio) Speedway, and the annual Rayce Rudeen Foundation race will also be on the schedule in 2024.

The prestigious Eldora Speedway will host High Limit Racing twice with a two-day midweek event in July and a return appearance in September for the 4-Crown Nationals. Eagle (Neb.) Raceway will return with the biggest Midweek Money Series purse at the Eagle Nationals.

High Limit Racing will also have two events in conjunction with NASCAR, one at Texas Motor Speedway in April, and another at Lakeside Speedway, roughly eight miles from Kansas Speedway, in May.

The series will make its West Coast debut in 2024, with events including the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. and the Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Wash.

The complete 2024 schedule with more than 50 events, as well as purse information, will be released in the coming weeks. 

Will Kyle Larson still compete in High Limit races in 2024?

Yes. Kyle Larson’s schedule is always subject to change based on his busy NASCAR Cup Series schedule, but he will compete in High Limit Racing event as much as he is able. Larson will continue to compete in all Midweek Money Series events. 

Larson won the inaugural High Limit Racing championship by a slim margin over Rico Abreu in 2023.

Is Brad Sweet competing with High Limit in 2024?

Yes. Brad Sweet will continue to drive the familiar NAPA No. 49 for Kasey Kahne Racing on the full High Limit Racing tour. 

Sweet will attempt to claim his first High Limit Racing championship in 2024 after claiming five consecutive World of Outlaws championships. 

Who will be competing in High Limit Racing events? 

Information about a driver roster has not yet been announced. Those announcements are expected to be made as drivers and teams commit to running the tour during the coming weeks and months leading into the 2024 season. 

What will High Limit Racing events pay to win? 

The minimum “to-win” amount for a High Limit race is $10,000 for preliminary nights of a multi-day event. Other races will pay up to $100,000 to win. 

Throughout the 2024 season, High Limit Racing will pay out more than $5 million in prize money to Sprint Car racers and teams. 

More information on event purses will be released prior to the start of the 2024 season. 

What will the point fund for High Limit pay in 2024? 

The total point fund in 2024 will award $1 million, with $250,000 going to the winning team and driver collectively. 

The "Midweek Money Series" will race only on weekdays and will have a separate $100,000 point fund.

What will the championship and race format be for High Limit Racing? 

The format for the 2024 season, including any rule changes, will be shared by High Limit Racing at the appropriate time.

Will High Limit Racing drivers be penalized for racing in any other events or series?

No. High Limit Racing believes in a "freedom factor" to optimize the amount of revenue teams can make each season. High Limit Racing teams will not be penalized for choosing to compete elsewhere.

Does FloSports own High Limit Racing?

FloSports will take a minority equity stake in the series and stream all races exclusively on FloRacing, with hours of additional original content and social programming planned.

Did High Limit Racing purchase the All Star Circuit of Champions?

Yes. It was announced on October 23 that Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson acquired the All Star Circuit of Champions from former owner Tony Stewart. 

Will High Limit race more regionally like the All Star Circuit of Champions did? 

No. The series will have a national footprint and race from coast to coast. 

Will High Limit Racing keep the All Star Circuit of Champions racing in 2024?

No. The All Star Circuit of Champions have merged into the High Limit Racing brand.

Will Ohio Sprint Speedweek still happen in 2024?

Yes. High Limit Racing will have an announcement soon regarding Ohio Sprint Speedweek.
