Results: Deac McCaskill Wins Wild CARS Tour 125 At South Boston
Unofficial results, highlights, and more from the CARS Tour Late Model Stock 125 at South Boston Speedway.
There are nights at the race track that you just don’t forget. The weather was perfect, the racing was good, and the time spent with friends and family was well-spent. Saturday night at South Boston Speedway was one of those nights as the CARS Tour brought both divisions to the historic Virginia short track.
The early fall weather was as good as you could ask for, but the action on the track was even better. Deac McCaskill and Layne Riggs put on a thrilling show for all 125 laps in Saturday’s Late Model Stock Car feature.
For a majority of the race, and especially in the late stages, McCaskill and Riggs battled side-by-side, sometimes with contact being made between the two. McCaskill was happy to run the high line, while Riggs tried to make time on the bottom. And when it looked like McCaskill was finally beginning to pull away, Riggs would close right back in a few laps later.
But in the end it was McCaskill holding off Riggs to score his second win of the season and 11th CARS Tour win of his career. Bobby McCarty took third while Brenden Queen finished fourth and points leader Carson Kvapil completed the top five.
Winning Quote From Deac McCaskill
"This is really special, man. I guess because it is so out of control, out of breath every lap. I guess that's what makes it so special, I guess. It isn't like you're just sitting on the bottom logging laps. You're really like qualifying every lap." - Deac McCaskill
