For the fifth time this season, defending CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil was the one taking pictures and spraying the champagne in victory lane, but this time he really had to work for it. A terrible qualifying effort resulted in Kvapil starting from the 18th position in the 21-car starting field on the tight confines of Wake County Speedway. Kvapil slowly and methodically worked his way through the field and eventually into the lead. 

Once Kvapil found the lead, Kvapil told the rest of his competitors to get lost as he drove off into the distance. The win further extended his points lead over Brenden Queen who rebounded to finish fourth after an early-race spin. With four races remaining, Kvapil has just about assured himself of being a back-to-back CARS Tour champion.

The next race for the CARS Tour will take place on Saturday, September 9 at Jacksonville, North Carolina's New River All-American Speedway live on FloRacing.
