For the second time this year, Kyle Busch will race a Dirt Late Model this weekend prior to the NASCAR Cup Series event at Michigan International Speedway. Busch, a three-time NASCAR Cup Series winner already this season, will compete in the 35th Annual Wood Tic at Merritt Speedway on Saturday, August 5.

The Wood Tic is an annual Dirt Late Model race that pays $35,000 to the winner and $1,000 to start. The race will be streamed live to a worldwide audience on FloRacing.

Busch will drive a No. 51 Rowdy Energy sponsored Longhorn Chassis for Brandon Thirlby Racing.

Earlier this year, Busch raced a Brandon Overton/Wells Motorsports Dirt Late Model in the Kyle Larson Late Model Challenge at Volunteer Speedway. "Rowdy" started 23rd and finished the race one lap down in 16th against a field that include many of the country's best Dirt Late Model drivers.

Busch is a former Prelude to the Dream winner at Eldora Speedway, winning the race in 2012 while driving a Scott Bloomquist car. He also competed in a Dirt Late Model during the Bristol Dirt Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2021.
