This weekend in the cornfields of Iowa, the biggest feature event in Eddyville Raceway Park history will unfold as a three day CHAOS double header is set for May 26-28th. Headlining the weekend is both the Spell Paving Services Funny Car Chaos and DMP Awnings Nitro Chaos Championship series events being run together on the same weekend for the first time in history. ‘CHAOS in the Cornfield’ will be just that and adding to the excitement and anticipation of this event is the news that mid-west Funny Car favorite Dale Creasy Jr will be honored as event Grand Marshal while also competing in the Nitro Chaos category at the event.

Dale Creasy Jr, a two time (2006-2007) IHRA Nitro Funny Car Champion, has been driving nitro funny cars since 1997 and the family name is a staple in the Midwest funny car scene. Creasy Jr follows his late father Creasy Sr’s footsteps and remains a regular on the NHRA and match racing circuits. The Creasy family drag races because they love drag racing. Sticking with the grassroots approach but with a full time professional mind-set, this family run team has been together for years and been able to keep up with the advancements of professional funny car racing, having recently eclipsed the three second mark (to 1,000 feet). Creasy Jr and company will be looking to rub elbows with the best of CHAOS in the Inaugural running of the DMP Awnings Nitro Chaos Championship season.

Many may not know, but Dale gave me a big opportunity as a crew member for his team during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, which are memories I’ll never forget. So not only is he a close friend, but truly is one of the last old school nitro funny car drivers that is still out there going head to head with the million dollar budgeted cars. I can’t think of a more deserving person than Dale to be honored at this special event,” says Funny Car Chaos and Nitro Chaos series director Chris Graves.

Three days of CHAOS are set to unfold at Eddyville Raceway Park’s Twisted Shifterz and 360 Steel ‘Chaos in the Cornfield’ presented by Stanke Motorsports on May 26-28th. Spectators can expect to see over fifty, possibly even sixty, maybe seventy feature cars set to battle for over $75,000 in payouts. Friday will feature pro night time testing under the lights, Saturday will host two pro qualifying sessions and Sunday will feature final qualifying and eliminations over a jam packed weekend featuring many additional classes.
