Just a few months into their first full-time sprint car season together, Buddy Kofoid and CMS Racing have parted ways. The team made the announcement Sunday evening following a weekend of racing at Eldora Speedway.

“Crouch Motorsports and Buddy Kofoid have agreed to mutually part ways effective immediately,” the team said in a statement posted on their Twitter. "Team owner Leighton Crouch and Kofoid could not come to an agreement on the direction of the team, which led to this decision. Buddy is a talented sprint car driver and we wish him will in his future endeavors."

The team had previously committed to running the High Limit Sprint Car Series full time this season. Kofoid currently sits fifth in the points standings after a 15th-place finish at Lakeside Speedway and a seventh at 34 Raceway.

Last year, Kofoid and the CMS team won the inaugural High Limit Open at Lincoln Speedway (IL).

This past weekend at Eldora Speedway with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, Kofoid and the CMS team finished 11th in the B-main on Friday and were one spot out of a feature transfer position on Saturday.

On March 24, the team bested the World of Outlaws at the Talladega Short Track. Kofoid currently sits seventh in the World of Outlaw points standings despite not committing to the series full-time.

CMS Racing is in their second season as a sprint car team. Buddy Kofoid is a two-time USAC National Midget Champion.
