SELINSGROVE, PA - Race No. 1 under new Selinsgrove Speedway promoter Stephanie Baker goes green this weekend with the return of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco to the half-mile oval.

After last weekend’s weather-related postponement of the series event at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway, Selinsgrove now serves as Race No. 1 of the Rent Equip/Party Central South Region for the big-block/small-block Modifieds and Belmont’s Garage South Region for the Crate 602 Sportsman this Saturday, March 18.

The series did not compete at Selinsgrove in 2022. Only one race has been held during the series’ decade-long history at Selinsgrove and that came on March 20, 2021 with Andy Bachetti of Sheffield, Mass., taking the Modified victory and Grant Hilfiger of Canadensis, Pa., topping the Crate 602 Sportsman.

Bachetti bested Anthony Perrego, Matt Sheppard, Mat Williamson and Kyle Coffey.

Hilfiger topped John Stevenson, Jared LaBagh, Matt Janczuk and Joe Toth.

This Saturday, the race for a $15,000 Rent Equip/Party Central South Region championship for the Modifieds gets underway with a 40-lap main event. STSS Modifieds compete for $5,000-plus to win, $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green flag.

Crate 602 Sportsman battle 25 laps for $1,500 to the winner and $100 to take the green flag. The Belmont’s Garage South Region point champion receives a minimum of $1,500 at year-end.

Numerous contingency awards and bonuses will be added to each event.
