Qualifier Lineups For The 38th Annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout

After three days of racing in Tulsa, Oklahoma the qualifier lineups have been set for the 2023 Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout

On Friday, the four major Micro Sprint divisions (Stock Non-Wing, A-Class, Winged Outlaws, Outlaw Non-Wing) will compete in qualifying races with a chance to qualify for Saturday's main events.

To get to where we are currently, the top 112 drivers in passing points from heat races in each division have been placed in one of eight qualifiers. Additionally, the top-four positions in each qualifier have been inverted, which gives the top point earners from heat races an opportunity to earn more points in their qualifiers.

During the qualifiers, drivers will earn passing points based on their starting and finishing positions. Passing points from qualifiers will be added to the passing points earned during heat races, and the top 16 in combined passing points in each division will lock into Saturday's A-Mains.

The remaining drivers finishing 17th through 112th in passing points will be placed into B-Mains on Saturday afternoon, where the top two finishers in C-Mains will join them. From there, the drivers remaining will race for a chance to race in an A Qualifier where the top-eight finishers will qualify for the A-Main.

Now, let's get to the lineups (courtesy of @Walkapedia on Twitter) for Friday's qualifiers to see how things stack up.

Stock Non-Wing

Steven Snyder, Jr. enters the Stock Non-Wing qualifiers leading the overall points after a ninth-to-first run in his qualifier. Another driver to keep an eye on will be Gavan Boschele, who raced from 10th to second in his qualifier and will line up fourth in the fourth Stock Non-Wing qualifier.

Outlaw Non-Wing

Kevin Thomas, Jr. stole the show in the Outlaw Non-Wing heats with a head-turning 10th-to-first performance to earn maximum points. A handful of heavy hitters will roll off from the desired fourth position with an opportunity to earn more points. That list includes Jason McDougal, Daison Pursley and defending division winner Jeffrey Newell.

A-Class

Kris Carroll charged from eighth to first in his heat race to earn high points honors in the A-Class division. The former Outlaw Non-Wing winner at the Tulsa Shootout will be seeking his first A-Class triumph. Other drivers in good position include: Emerson Axsom, Jace Park and dirt late model star Ricky Thornton, Jr.

Winged Outlaws

11-year-old Jett Barnes has been one of the drivers talked about most this week in Tulsa, and rightfully so. The young gun earned high-point honors in the Winged Outlaws with an eighth-to-first run in his heat race. A stout list of drivers will also be starting fourth in the qualifiers and attempting to chase down Barnes at the top of the point standings. Drivers to keep an eye on include Chance Crum, TJ Smith, Noah Gass, Emerson Axsom, Michael Faccinto, Gavan Boschele, Ryder Laplante and Kaylee Bryson.
