A pair of CAA Volleyball student-athletes earned American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honorable mention, as Delaware senior outside hitter Lani Mason and Towson sophomore outside hitter Victoria Barrett were recognized by the organization Wednesday morning.

Mason becomes the first student-athlete in Delaware program history to garner AVCA All-America honors, while Barrett is the second from Towson.

Mason led the CAA this season with 604 points and 548 kills. As of Dec. 11, she ranked sixth in the NCAA in points (5.54) and kills (5.03) per set.

The senior from Chester, Virginia, recorded double-digit kills in 27-of-28 matches this season, with 20 or more 11 times, including five performances with at least 30.

Mason was named CAA Player of the Year, in addition to first-team All-CAA honors, and she was tabbed on the CAA Championship All-Tournament team.

Barrett led Towson in kills (329) and kills per set (3.05), while ranking second on the team in digs (230) and digs per set (2.13).

The sophomore from Stafford, Virginia, totaled a team-high six double-doubles and finished 19 matches with double-digit kills.

Barrett earned first-team All-CAA honors and was named the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Performer after leading Towson to its fourth straight CAA title.

This year’s selections marks the most AVCA All-American honorees from CAA Volleyball since 2018.
