The Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup is coming to an end Thursday night at the 19th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN.

Casey's Cup points leader Jason Hughes and second-place Stormy Scott headline the battle for the championship, which will kick off the first of three nights of racing and see more than 100 Modifieds and 50 B-Mods in the pits.

Hughes has held onto the Casey's Cup points lead for the past few months, gaining the advantage going into Thursday's final showdown -- and out front is not an uncommon place for him. He heads into the final event in the lead for the fourth time in the last eight years. Each time he's maintained the lead through the penultimate event, he's left the series as the champion.

There is only one driver who has a serious chance of stopping Hughes from being crowned for the fourth time. Scott enters the event 43 points behind the leader.

The easiest way for Scott to try and secure the win is for him to win the race and lead the most laps, but even so Scott has to count on bad luck for his competitor. Hughes could still win the points battle by finishing as far back as 15th.

Hughes has won the championship from even more perilous positions, including last year when Cade Dillard entered the night trailing Hughes by 10 points. Dillard rocketed from 12th to first to win the race but ended up losing the championship by a mere three points as Hughes crossed the line second. Dillard is currently running third in the points -- nine behind Scott.

The rookie of the year battle sees Tucson, AZ, native R.C. Whitwell and Elizabeth, MN's Travis Saurer separated by only eight points.

The action does not end with Thursday night's championship race. The following two nights feature two more complete shows, with the top 15 in passing points transferring into the A-Main. Another 15 drivers will have to come through the B-Main.

The Modifieds winners of Thursday and Friday events will be awarded $5,000, and the final night pays out $10,000 to first. The B-Mods purse will increase each night with the Thursday winner getting $750, Friday winner receiving $1,000, and Saturday's victor walking away with $1,200.
