Cla Knight Expects To Pick Up Two Wins In Two Races
Cla Knight is trying to make his way to the top spot of the Fastrak series, but like the rest of the field, he is going to take a break to run the special World Challenge and Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway, in Jamaica, VA, which are streaming LIVE on FloRacing.

Knight is currently running third in the points, with just one point separating him from second-place Jensen Ford. In his third year running with the Fastrak Southeast touring series, Knight still has an ample chance of winning the points battle -- if the driver of the No. 42 Dirt Late Model can get out of Virginia with some momentum.

"This year has been a little up and down as far as points go," Knight said. "We've had a pretty good year altogether, but the points races have been up and down. We've had some good ones and some bad finishes. We haven't been too consistent this year. We're still third. We're close enough that we still have a chance at it."

Knight has one touring win this season, which came on July 22 at Screven Speedway in Sylvania, GA. Since his win, he's averaged 29.57 points per race. The only driver with a higher average is points leader Benji Hicks, who is trending narrowly higher with 29.86 per outing.

"That was a good win for us," Knight said. "That's when we started to turn around our performances. We've become a little more consistent since then. That win was also a shot in the arm for me and the guys, so hopefully we could get us some more coming up."

Virginia Motor Speedway has been a strong track for Knight in the past, and he finished sixth in the tour's first visit to Jamaica this year in April. Two months later, he finished off the lead lap at VMS after suffering a right rear flat following contact with a spinning car out in heavy traffic.

"We've had a lot of success there," Knight said. "We've never won a race at VMS, but we've always been strong. We've won heat races and have had some strong finishes."

Going into the two-night showcase at VMS, Knight is looking to lock in some wins and to further improve his season and the team's morale. Short off that, he wants to have strong runs and keep himself in contention in the feature.

"My expectation this weekend is to go and race hard -- and pick up two wins," he said. "It's what we want to try to do. If not, we just want to finish as good as we can. We feel just as confident as anyone, that we have a good shot to win."

Watch Knight and all the Fastrak regular will race LIVE on FloRacing this Friday and Saturday.
