The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series is preparing for its most lucrative race of the season on Saturday, June 3, at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway in Imperial, PA.

The sixth annual Ed Laboon Memorial Race, which is being streamed LIVE on FloRacing, features a $2,017-to-win prize structure with $200 to start the A-Main, but that is only part of the appeal this week. The race will award points both for the national touring series and for the M&T Allison Construction Segment Two Shootout that includes Saturday's race as well as events on August 5 and October 6-7. The winner of the Segment Two Shootout points race will pocket an additional $1,000.



There will be no registration fee for the Ed Laboon Memorial, which creates a unique opportunity for racers to turn a profit. The race offers almost $15,000 in guaranteed prize money spread across several different contingencies. A $517 purse is up for grabs in the Non-Qualifiers feature, $50 to the fast qualifier, $50 each for heat winners, $150 for the winner of the dash, and $50 to that race's second-place finisher.

As a way to attract new drivers, the highest finishing "Invader" will add $100 to his prize total. 

In five previous events, no one has visited Victory Lane twice yet. 

Todd Weldon captured the win last year and will be back to defend his crown. 

Rusty Martz was the 2015 winner, and he also has a chance to take home his second Laboon trophy. 

Other contenders expected to race are Chris Schneider, (Penn Ohio points champion in 2016), Dave McManus (last week's winner and PPMS track champ in 2016), Jason Fosnaught (won on this track two weeks ago), Andy Buckley (finished fourth in this race last year), and Corey McPherson (Lernerville Speedway track champ in 2016).
