Memorial Day Weekend has long been host to some of the greatest racing worldwide. NASCAR runs its longest race of the year with the Coke 600. The Indy 500 remains the pinnacle of open wheel racing, and Formula 1 visits the famed Streets of Monaco. This year, the place to be for hundreds of dirt track, stock car racers will be Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, OK, as they tackle three nights of competition that pays $3,000 to win each night.

The Super Stock Triple Threat Weekend will stream LIVE on FloRacing, beginning on Friday, May 26, and runs for three consecutive nights.

Back in the 1970s and '80s, one of Tri-State's staples was a huge Memorial Day show, and the Triple Threat weekend will rekindle that enthusiasm.

Each night will showcase a full card, and that means a racer who gets on a roll and wins all three could potentially walk away with $9,000. But if a driver has a problem in his heat or a bad draw one night, he still has two other opportunities to take a big check home.

Tri-State will pay $300 to simply make the show.

Drivers will draw for their heat race positions each night to fill a field of approximately six. That number may be adjusted depending on the car count. The top two from each heat lock into the feature and the remainder will be placed into 15-lap qualification races.

Up to 12 drivers will advance through their heats, the remainder of the top 22 will qualify through the last chance races, and two promoter's provisionals will round out a field of 24.

The A-Main will be 33 laps.

Track promoter Tommy New has had this idea for a long while, and recently taking over the duties at Tri-State is giving him the opportunity to execute the plan.

Known as Super Stocks in the region, this class is also called Street Stocks or Grand Nationals in other parts of the country, and the cost-of-entry is low compared to late models, touring modifieds, or sprint cars.

The stock-appearing class has limitations to the engine size to keep the price down, but there is still plenty of horsepower to get around the 0.375-mile dirt track.

Each night will feature a support class as well. On Friday, the USRA B-Mods will race alongside the stockers. Saturday night will have the IMCA Modifieds, and Sunday will have the USRA Modifieds. All of these will be points-paying races in their respective seasons.
