It seems like football and motorsports have been appearing in headlines together more often than usual this season.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott recently treated each of his offensive linemen to a John Deere ATV as thanks for paving the way for his incredible 1,631-yard, 15-touchdown rookie campaign.

They aren't exactly "racing" ATVs, but considering he's giving them to a bunch of 300-plus-pound men, the extra support is probably for the best. Elliott, who was drafted No. 4 overall by the Cowboys out of Ohio State, doesn't seem to have spared any expense either…

There must be something in the water in Columbus, Ohio. While Elliott has shown an affinity for ATVS, current Ohio State running back Demario McCall has a bit of a history with dirt bikes.

Per LandOf10.com, McCall has been a rider since the age of 7 but is best known for an infamous picture taken when he was 16 years old that tends to "pop up across the Buckeyes' Twittersphere" whenever he makes a big play.

The story behind the shot?

"That was my first 250 (dirt bike)," McCall told Land of 10 with a smile. "I was like 16 in that picture. It was on my birthday and my father had bought me that orange dirt bike."

Who knows if it's the speed or the thrill, but for one reason or another, football players love their motors.
