The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series held its 18th race of the season Friday with the Farmer City 74 at Farmer City Raceway.

Ricky Thornton Jr. surged from the eighth-starting spot to win his third straight on the tour as the Chandler, Ariz., driver led the final four of 74 laps for the $25,000 payday.

2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Farmer City Raceway

Jonathan Davenport led the opening 54 laps from the pole and finished 1.744 seconds behind Thornton in second. Garrett Alberson recorded his third straight podium finish. Shannon Babb failed to finish the race in 22nd after leading laps 55 through 70. Babb dropped out of the running on lap 72 with an apparent engine issue.
