Despite a valiant effort by track and series officials, Wednesday's CARS Tour event at North Wilkesboro Speedway has been postponed due to weather. A date has not yet been announced for the postponed event, but it is expected to be held later this summer.

The postponement of Wednesday's event came as a result of scattered rain showers throughout the evening that began during Pro Late Model qualifying. The first round of precipitation began after three Pro Late Models recorded a qualifying time. Following a round of track drying, Pro Late Model qualifying resumed until additional precipitation fell with 20 out of the 32 cars qualified. 

Qualifying rounds for both the Pro Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars were canceled following the second round of showers. 

CARS Tour and North Wilkesboro Speedway officials remained committed to getting Wednesday's race in until a heavy round of rain hit the speedway around 8:45 p.m. ET.

The decision to postpone the event was communicated to drivers and teams during a meeting with CARS Tour officials around 9 p.m. ET. 

Due to the logistics involved with moving NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series teams into the pit area for this weekend's NASCAR All-Star Race activities, a rain date of Thursday was not an option. 

More information on the rescheduled date will be announced by track and series officials in the future. 

CARS Tour teams are already schedule to return to North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 19 for the season finale.
