As he spoke from Victory Lane, David Gravel had a succinct reaction to snapping Donny Schatz's five-race winning streak on Sunday night at Nodak Speedway in Minot, North Dakota.

"He wins too much. I want some wins too," Gravel said.

Gravel posted only modest results during two previous nights in North Dakota, finishing 16th at Red River Speedway in West Fargo and 10th at River Cities in Grand Forks, but he found the handle and led all 35 laps of the A-Main at Nodak.

It was his 13th World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win of the season.

The track watered the surface just before the feature began, which made it faster and heavier -- conditions most of the of the field did not anticipate. With the increased grip, the bottom groove got the jump on the field with Gravel pulling to a lead and third-starting Brad Sweet moving into second.

This allowed Sweet to challenge Gravel on several occasions during the event, but Sweet was never able to lead at the flag stand.

After two disappointing nights, Gravel rolled out a different car for night three, and that proved to be the difference.

"We brought this car down and I'm glad we got it done tonight because we were not very good the last two nights," Gravel said. "This is three straight wins for this car."

Schatz was among those who were unprepared for the new conditions.

He fell to third in the opening laps and burned his tires up trying to catch the leader. He managed to get back into second for a sweep of the top five in the three-race stand.

"We got going at the end," Schatz said. "I think I used way too much of my tires to get there, though. We did the best we could, and sometimes you are going to have that."

Along with success at the beginning of the season, Schatz now has a perfect record of top fives in North Dakota.

"North Dakota has a huge presence with the World of Outlaws, and I don't think anyone realizes how big it is," he said. "Thank you to the fans. Without you guys we would not have nearly as much fun as we do."

Sweet held onto third, which was his 44th top five of the season.

"We were right there a lot of the race," Sweet said. "David never made any mistakes, and then I made one and Donny got by me. All in all it was a good night."

Shane Stewart and Daryn Pittman rounded out the top five.

Saturday's night winner Jason Johnson finished sixth.
