This Father's Day weekend, FloRacing will turn right as well as left.
On May 25, the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association announced its partnership with FloRacing to stream the Brickyard Invitational at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on June 16-18, 2017.
The SVRA is one of the fastest-growing racing series in autosports. Since 2012, it has reported consistent triple-digit growth and has gone from being a Southeast regional player to competing on a national scale.
Streaming live on a global platform will allow SVRA to continue that growth.
"This is another important step forward as we extend the influence of the SVRA brand and create value for our sponsors, build a consumer fan base, and tell our story of compelling racing and the motorsports festival experience," said Tony Parella, SVRA president and CEO. "Our sponsor investors and motorsports industry influencers I have spoken with recognize the increasing impact of web-delivered streaming coverage of sports and news."
This year, the schedule includes some of the most venerable road courses in America -- a fitting backdrop for the vintage cars that will race on them.
The series includes stops at Willow Springs Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and Watkins Glen International. It has also added a hill climb to the calendar with the "Tail of the Dragon" roadway in Robbinsville, NC. In total, 14 events will be run this year. The complete schedule can be found at SVRA.com.
Legendary racers such as Al Unser Sr. and Jr., Davy Jones, Bill Elliott, Bob Tullius, and Lyn St. James regularly show up to compete alongside the talented regulars.
Fueling the series' growth is a number of key strategic partnerships, including one recently signed with Harley-Davidson as the official motorcycle of the SVRA. This year, vintage motorcycles will be a part of the fourth annual Brickyard Invitational.
"Since launching earlier this year, FloRacing has attracted a lot of attention, and it's in part thanks to partnerships with leading organizations like SVRA," FloSports SVP of Global Rights Acquisition and Subscription Phil Wendler said. "From compelling action on the track to superstar drivers, the Brickyard Invitational attracts the most passionate racing fans. Our work with SVRA will enable us to give racing fans worldwide an up-close and inside look into all that the event has to offer."
