Brent Crews and his Kevin Harvick Incorporated team had a wild weekend. "Rollercoaster" of a weekend is really the best way to describe it. They didn't have much speed in Friday's practice sessions. And then they ended Friday by blowing an engine in the final scheduled session of the evening, a session that was only added to make up for lost time due to another car blowing an engine earlier in the day. 

After getting barely two hours of sleep Friday night into Saturday, Crews' KHI team had his No. 29 rolling on Saturday. Crews put down another qualifying lap good for a front row start. He entered this weekend with a 3.3 average start in his first three races, but was sporting a 10.67 average finish.

But at the end of 125 crazy laps around the high-banked 3/8-mile Orange County Speedway, it's safe to say Crews' average finish went in the right direction as Crews is now a CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car winner for the first time.

"Honestly, if we were going to win any of them this year, I definitely didn't think it was going to be this one," said Crews in victory lane. "We blew a motor and the guys only got two hours of sleep. We came here and I did not think we were good all day, and then we qualified second and we had a piece to win. You never know what's coming your way. Especially with this series and how competitive it is. It's cool to just put this thing in victory lane."

Crews took the lead on a late-race restart from Bobby McCarty and then had to hold off Kaden Honeycutt, who scored the Pro Late Model victory earlier in the evening, to get the victory. Even though Honeycutt made a late charge, Crews took the victory by 1.147-seconds over Honeycutt.

Rounding out the top five behind Crews and Honeycutt were defending series champion Carson Kvapil, points leader Connor Hall, and Chase Burrow. Katie Hettinger, Ryan Millington, Timothy Peters, Layne Riggs, who came back from a cut tire earlier, and Treyten Lapcevich completed the top 10.

After leading much of the race, Bobby McCarty finished 24th with just 98 laps completed after getting caught up in a crash due to contact with Connor Zilisch. Mini Tyrrell, who entered the evening second in points, was also caught up in that crash and finished 18th.

The CARS Tour will be back in action on Friday, May 3 for a Late Model Stock Car/Pro Late Model doubleheader at Altamahaw, North Carolina's Ace Speedway.
